National Security and Intelligence Research (NSIR)
Primary Lines of Effort
The GIES National Security and Intelligence Research (NSIR) team focuses on reducing national security risk to the Defense Industrial Base by providing classified analytic insights, Intelligence Community integration, support for Congressionally-mandated projects, and research, assessments, and reviews across the IBR portfolio of responsibilities, to include investment trends analysis, Defense Production Act-related investments, and Supply Chain Risk Management.
Research
Supports case analysis, declarations, mitigation, non notified, monitoring and Team Telecom in identifying and developing the threat picture
Receives referrals for CFIUS cases requiring additional in depth national security research and technical subject matter expertise
Engagement
Engages with intelligence community stakeholders on transactions of concern
Hosts working groups and interagency tiger teams to review active cases, discuss standards, review trends, and identify areas for further research
